Project Brief
On Ljubljana’s most genuinely bourgeois street of Gornji trg, changes are a-coming. Just a little further along the church of Sveti Florijan, where Slovenian most famous architect Jože Plečnik designed a staircase, we are planning to introduce an intricate interior. A fusion of historical elements and modern detailing.
The restaurant’s design has been majorly influenced by the mentioned architect Jože Plečnik. Inside the restaurant are preserved three original Plečnik’s pillars, exactly like those that can be found on the Tromostovje bridge. Proper restoration and preservation of these pillars are in plan in order to protect our history and to let it enrich the new restaurant.
On the flip side, we are making sure that the customer will be well aware he is entering a new and upbeat restaurant. We chose to mix such features with a rather industrial, urban approach, where the beautiful original arches and brickwork will be combined with light metal fences, a game of mirrors, hanging greenery and modern light furniture.
Combining such features of architectural and historical importance with new-age materialization will help us ensure that the restaurant will be a truly unique gem on the street. As for the food, for now, let’s just say it simply that you should expect something familiar, yet different from the usual.
