The project includes a unique design of a duplex apartment in the city center of Novo Mesto. The entrance to the apartment opens up a view of the stone runway, which visually separates the living area from the communications and continues to the staircase. The runway visually hovers and also dematerializes in the staircase, whose side panels with one-sided mounting continue the effect of hovering in the upper space.

The living space is visually designed with a harmonious and coherent material palette. Thoughtful unity is broken only by elements created from wooden slats that dictate the function of space. There is also a strong emphasis on light, which is always indirect and, together with wooden slats, creates specific spatial ambiences. Upstairs, in the study, the concept of lamellar accents and indirect light continues and creates a cozy work nook.

The “masterbedroom” is divided into two rooms; sleeping area and wardrobe area. The sleeping part is more restrained in its design, with the only emphasis being on the frame made of wooden slats. The wardrobe part is more varied with unique frames made of ice strips that emphasize the central wardrobe island. The bathroom acts as an oasis of peace and quiet. With subtle light and dark tiles, it mimics the ambience of wellness, which, however, still works warmly and pleasantly thanks to the ceramic tiles imitating wood. Here, too, wooden slats appear in functional niches, rounding off the story of the entire apartment and connecting it into a whole.
