PROJECT DESCRIPTION
With the desire to move to a more peaceful and quiet place, the family of four chose a plot under the bank, surrounded by the Ljubljansko Barje. They wanted us to design spaces with views of nature and pastures. That is why the entire house was designed around this. The size of the plot allows for the placement of a large house with additional spaces around the building and a suitable external arrangement.
Due to the position of the neighboring buildings, it was determined that all rooms are open to the west and east. The strict conditions of the municipality defined the dimensions, orientation, and external appearance of the house.
In the plot, the main idea was to demarcate the public and private parts, or to visually protect the private outdoor spaces with the so-called “green walls”.
The house is designed to be bright and open, as the investor’s wish was to have large glass openings that would allow sufficient sunlight in the interior spaces. The main space and place for socializing in the house is the living room, which was conceived as a large deepened space, that allows the desired experience of a two-level space to be even more pronounced.
The living room is placed in the middle of the house, which, despite the large square footage of the building, allows for a solution with a small area of corridors.
