PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Pržan is a part of Ljubljana, which lies in its northwestern part below Šentviški hrib. The settlement, which began to develop in the 1950s, is a witness statement to the architectural features of the then mainstream characteristics in housing construction.
Clearly visible control lines of the micro-location form its street façade mantle and do not allow the expansion of the built-up area of the plot.
The project of a summer home in the existing building includes a complete renovation of the living unit in the basement.
In trying to ensure basic and other living qualities, we faced two main challenges: the small size of the windows (basement floor) and floor plans of the client, which included a spacious living room, bedroom with maximum wardrobe area, bathroom, and utility space for the heating system.
The conceptual design project envisages excavation of the terrain and thorough rearrangement of the external terrain, which enables the deepening of the terrain, the increase of the existing window openings and the provision of a pleasant external vestibule.
The central theme of the interior design was the warm summer days; which we incorporated with the freshness of bright, warm materials combined with vibrant details. Simple lines make it easier to maintain the space, and with them, the apartment is placed between fresh and modern renovations.
