Renovation of a flower shop in a shopping center in Novo Mesto called for refreshment and transformation into a bright, fluid and diverse space.
The renovation concept evolved through the search of new use, functionality and look of the old wooden cabinets and closets, as well as their logical placement in the shop of an irregular shape. The functional organisation of the flower shop was divided into two clear sections, one for selling flowers and pots, and the other for presenting a gift program. They are connected with a selling counter with space for creating the flower and gift arrangement, which with its placement allows quick communication with customers.
The design creates a fluid space, that on different spots invites by-passers inside and opens up a view towards the presented items. With a few partition walls, oriented perpendicularly on the entrances, we create an interesting dialogue between the inside and the outside. The walls are on one side a light apricot coloured background for the restored closets with removed back panels, and on the other side a mirror for the steel elements, that with the exhibited plants create an inviting stop to look at the ambient.
The restored closets and cabinets are coloured with a combination of grey and apricot colour, which brings a new life and energy to the old pieces. The steel elements are coloured white, so the focus remains on the plants and other presented elements. The shops colour scheme of the light grey walls and two shades of apricot are with the added colours and dynamic of plants combined into lively, energetic and colourful visuals.
A waved line of hanged dried flowers and linear lighting on the ceiling completes the look of the flower shop, clearly connecting the whole space and communicating with the outside with a clear indicator of what to expect.
